The Nova Scotia Association of Architects is pleased to announce the opening of the Lieutenant Governor's Design Awards in Architecture 1998 and The Craft of House Building, curated by Laura McClean, on Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Mary E. Black Gallery at 1683 Barrington St. in Halifax.
The exhibit recognizes outstanding architectural design and innovative, local practice. It also explores the question: what potential lies in mass production for crafting a home?
The 1998 award winners are as follows:

The Lieutenant Governor's Design Awards in Architecture 1998 and The Craft of House Building will be opened by Lt.-Gov. James Kinley and Mrs. Grace Kinley.
The exhibit opens Feb. 5 and runs through Feb. 28 at the Mary E. Black Gallery, Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design. The centre is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design is a program/resource centre of the Department of Education and Culture and is operated by the department's Cultural Affairs Division. The centre is a catalyst in the development of designers and craft persons as well as functioning as a visitor destination site.
