Tenders for Road
Work
The early tendering process for road work in Nova Scotia continues. The Department of Transportation and Public Works has announced eight projects involving some 53.5 kilometres of road upgrades in the province.
The tenders, all issued before Jan. 1, 1998, consist of pulverization, gravelling, asphalt concrete paving, cold planing and repaving.
The projects are:
Tender No. 60013189 Pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete paving Hants County - Burntcoat Road from the intersection of Route 354 and 215 at Noel, northerly to Route 215 near Minasville (8.3 kms)
Tender No. 60013179 Pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete paving Hants County - Trunk 14 from Nine Mile River Bridge easterly to Hardwoodlands Bridge at Garden Road (4.4 kms)
Tender No. 60013200 Pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete paving Antigonish County - Old Antigonish Road from intersection of Old Antigonish Road and Trunk 4, westerly (3.9 kms)\
- Old Antigonish Road from intersection at the Gorman Road easterly, and Gorman Road from that intersection to the railway crossing (4.0 kms)
Tender No. 60013199 Pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete paving Cumberland County - Wyvern Road from Route 321 to Wentworth/Collingwood Road (8.0 kms)
Tender No. 60013197 Pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete paving Colchester County - East Village Road from Highway 104 to Station Road (4.6 kms)\
- Carrobie road from East Village road to Station Road (2.3 kms)

Upperlakeville Road (5.3 kms)
Tender No. 60013192 Cold planing and asphalt concrete repaving Cumberland County - Highway 142, Springhill Connector from Highway 104 overpass to Junction Trunk 2 (6.3 kms)
Tender No. 60013193 Asphalt concrete paving Kings County - Highway 101 from Exit 14 at Coldbrook westerly and ramps at Exit 14 (6.4 kms)
Tenders will be awarded shortly, and work will begin in the spring and be completed during this summer's construction season. This work is part of the department's commitment to Better Roads for Nova Scotia campaign.
